Tiomkin, Vladimir
(1860-1927)
   Russian Zionist leader. He was born in Yelizavetgrad in the Ukraine. He was a founder of the Ahavat Zion Society in St Petersburg, and later became head of the executive committee of the Russian Hovevei Zion in Jaffa. He returned to Russia and joined the Zionist movement, participating in Zionist congresses. During World War I he directed relief projects in southern Russia; after the 1917 Revolution he resumed his Zionist activities. In 1920 he settled in Paris and joined Vladimir Jabotinsky's Revisionist Zionist movement.
